Toronto CFA Society Celebrates Election of Three New Board Members
TORONTO, June 29 /CNW/ - Toronto CFA Society announces the addition of three new members to the Society's Board of Directors following yesterday afternoon's election meeting.
"We are delighted to welcome Josephine Marks, CFA, Dale Powell, CFA, and Gregory Woynarski, CFA," said Nancy Hoi Bertrand, CFA, Toronto CFA Society President. "Toronto's commitment to high ethical standards is reflected through the dedication, hard-work and leadership of its volunteers allowing our board to continue to represent over 7,000 members."
Additionally, the Society expresses its sincere gratitude to Deborah Lee Chang, CFA, Daniel Miles, CFA and Bruce Thompson, CFA who have completed their terms on Toronto CFA Society's Board of Directors. "Their support has led to many successful new initiatives for Toronto's members." said Bertrand.
Josephine Marks, CFA, FSA, FCIA - Chair, Programs
Josephine is Managing Director, Pension Assets at Scotiabank where she is responsible for oversight of its global pension assets. Previously she held the position of Chief Investment Officer for HOOPP as well as senior executive roles in investments and asset-liability management at Maritime Life and Sun Life. Josephine is an active participant in CFA activities including acting as moderator/speaker for Toronto CFA Society events, participation in Central Exam Review and is currently a member of the society's portfolio management committee. She is a regular speaker at pension investment conferences and has been involved in the organization of various investment events over the last ten years.
Gregory C. Woynarski, CFA - Board Member at Large
Greg Woynarski is currently Managing Director and Head of the Global Debt Capital Markets Group and Global Co-Head of Credit Capital Markets Group at Scotia Capital. In this capacity, Greg is functionally responsible for Scotia's global fixed income origination and syndication teams covering corporate and commercial clients with additional co-responsibility for fixed income derivatives and structuring. Greg is also the former Chairman and CEO of Scotia Capital USA. Greg has over 16 years of capital markets experience, as well as, prior experience in senior debt lending including structuring and execution. Greg has a bachelor of commerce from the University of Calgary and a Masters degree from Boston University. Greg has been a CFA Charterholder since 2001.
Dale Powell, CFA, MBA, FSCI - Chair, Membership
Dale is Director, Investment consulting at Morningstar Research leading its institutional product and consulting business. He has also held positions at Aegon Fund Management, One Financial, Saxon Financial, and ING Investment Management. Dale has been a member of the society's membership committee since its creation in 2004. Dale has been a CFA charterholder since 1999.
