Toronto East General Hospital Foundation is postponing your laughter, just a little…
Toronto's top fundraising Comedy Gala to occur later in 2014
TORONTO, Jan. 22, 2014 /CNW/ - Toronto East General Hospital (TEGH) Foundation announced today that-- due to cancellation by Chris Rock, who was originally scheduled to headline Laughter is the Best Medicine II on March 29, 2014, --Toronto will be waiting a bit longer for its next dose of side-splitting hilarity.
"Planned for fall 2014, Laughter is the Best Medicine II will definitely be worth the wait," said Gala Co-Chair, Michael Geddes. "Toronto's own Will Arnett will be back to crack up the crowd as Master of Ceremonies, and we will soon reveal the exciting comic line, so stay tuned. We guarantee guests will be in stitches."
Highly anticipated, Laughter is the Best Medicine II follows on the success of the hospital's inaugural comedy gala in April 2012 with Will Arnett and Jerry Seinfeld; it set a new standard for charity galas in the city. A glittering crowd of more than 1500 guests laughed until they cried, at what National Post dubbed,"an unforgettable evening", raising an unprecedented three million dollars for TEGH.
Proceeds from Laughter is the Best Medicine II will contribute to the establishment of the Ken and Marilyn Thomson Patient Care Centre at Toronto East General Hospital.
