TORONTO, Feb. 22, 2012 /CNW/ - On February 22nd The Thomson family supports health care excellence and honours great Canadians Ken and Marilyn Thomson.
Through a transformational gift of $5M Peter and Diana Thomson will establish the Ken and Marilyn Thomson Patient Care Centre.
"Toronto East General Hospital is our local hospital, the place where our daughter was born, and a vital part of East Toronto's diverse communities," said Peter Thomson. "Diana and I are proud of the Hospital's history and accomplishments. We are delighted to support its mission to care for and improve the lives of the families it serves."

Peter and Diana were accompanied by their daughter Caroline who was born at TEGH.
The Ken and Marilyn Thomson Patient Care Centre is the focal point of a $211 M capital redevelopment project. In support of this Redevelopment, the Foundation has raised $48M to date towards the $60M private sector goal.
