Toronto Hydro crews respond to outages
TORONTO, April 12, 2013 /CNW/ - Toronto Hydro-Electric System Limited (Toronto Hydro) reports various outages throughout the city as a result of overnight high winds and freezing rain. At this time, crews have reduced the outage count from approximately 15,000 customers down to approximately 1,000 customers. Additional staff resources are on-hand responding to outages and customer calls. Toronto Hydro expects that all storm related outages will be restored by end of business today.
The storm has brought down tree limbs and wires. If customers come across damaged utility poles or see downed power lines they should stay clear as they may be energized and call 911 or report them to Toronto Hydro at 416-542-8000.
