Toronto Hydro named one of Canada's Top Family Friendly Employers for 2013

TORONTO, Dec. 10, 2012 /CNW/ - Today, Toronto Hydro-Electric System Limited (Toronto Hydro) was ranked one of Canada's Top Family Friendly Employers.  This prestigious recognition is given by Mediacorp Canada Inc. and published in The Globe and Mail.

Mediacorp chooses the winners based on the programs they have in place to assist families. These include benefits such as maternity, parental and compassionate leave top-ups, flexible work options and assistance with daycare and after-school support.

Earlier this year, Toronto Hydro was also acknowledged as one of the Greater Toronto's Top Employers for 2013 and one of Canada's Top 100 Employers. Both awards were chosen by editors at Mediacorp and companies were compared to their peers.

For more than 100 years Toronto Hydro has been delivering electricity to the country's largest city safely and efficiently. Toronto Hydro's employees are among the most skilled professionals in the industry, and they recently achieved a workplace safety record of 3,000,000 hours worked without a compensable injury, which is a company record.  Impressively, this safety milestone was met while the company was in the midst of one of its largest capital programs to date.
