Toronto Hydro working to restore approximately 8,000 customers still without power
High winds knocked power out and hampering restoration efforts
TORONTO, Nov. 24, 2014 /CNW/ - Toronto Hydro continues to work around the clock to restore power to the customers who remain without power following high winds earlier today.
As of 10 p.m. approximately 8,000 customers are without power, mostly in the west and north end of Toronto. Toronto Hydro continues to receive reports of outages as other areas are restored.
Crews are focusing on public safety issues and restoring power safely for customers. Restoration times are not known, but we expect most customers to be restored overnight. High winds continue, causing unsafe conditions and hampering restoration efforts. Therefore some customers may not be restored until tomorrow.
Public safety is always our priority. Toronto Hydro urges the public to exercise extreme caution. Please keep a safe distance from downed powerlines and report to Toronto Hydro at 416-542-8000.
