Toronto Japanese Film Festival gives nod to Rebirth
TORONTO, June 22, 2012 /CNW/ - Last night the inaugural Toronto Japanese Film Festival http://jccc.on.ca/torontojff/) closed with the North American premiere of Friends after 3.11 - an inquiry into post-tsunami Japan. The Festival's 12 films drew nearly four thousand people from across the city.
"Our new Festival far exceeded our expectations" said Festival Director James Heron. "People really appreciated the rare opportunity to see these top Japanese films."
The Kobayashi Audience Choice Award for the Festival's favourite film went to Izuru Narushima's Rebirth.
