Toronto Pearson welcomes Howard Eng
TORONTO, March 29, 2012 /CNW/ - The Board of Directors is proud to announce that Howard Eng has been appointed President and CEO of the Greater Toronto Airports Authority, effective March 29, 2012.
"I am very excited to be back home and to be working at Canada's largest airport," said Mr. Eng. "We will continue to work on guest experience programs to make flying through Toronto Pearson as enjoyable as possible. Toronto Pearson's gateway strategy will see us working closely with our airline partners to introduce new services and routes to benefit our community."
Marilynne Day-Linton, Chair of the Board of Directors welcomed Mr. Eng stating, "Howard's passion for airports will be a tremendous advantage to Toronto Pearson. He is returning to Canada after having worked at Hong Kong International Airport since 1995. Howard knows how to create an airport focussed on exceptional customer service, efficiency and profitability. I firmly believe that Howard will help us meet our strategic goals as we work to become North America's global hub."
Prior to his time in Hong Kong, Mr. Eng worked as Vice President, Operations at Edmonton International Airport, both with Transport Canada and the Edmonton Airport Authority. He is a graduate of the University of Alberta with over 30 years of leadership experience, specializing in airport hub development.
The GTAA is the non-share, not-for-profit corporation that operates Toronto Pearson. All revenue generated by the GTAA is reinvested back into the airport. In 2011, 33.4 million passengers travelled through Toronto Pearson.
