Toronto produced 'Jungle Book Circus' world premieres for Dubai audiences
CMart Worldwide reinvents the classic tale with innovative acrobatic, dance and musical performances
TORONTO, June 12, 2013 /CNW/ - Toronto dancers and actors are bringing Rudyard Kipling's beloved tale to life for Dubai audiences with the world premiere of 'Jungle Book Circus' produced by CMart Worldwide.
The exciting multi-genre production combines acrobatics, musical and theatre elements showcasing some of Toronto's best local talent. "This kind of work is fairly unique in Toronto," says Jeremy LaPalme, who plays Baloo the Bear. "Performing for events like this doesn't happen here on the scale that it does in Dubai. CMart has definitely tapped into a new area, and it's been very eye-opening for me to realize that this IS a market."
CMart Worldwide Creative Director, Lukas Cabalka, and his team have been creating unique productions that capture foreign audiences for years, and says their goal is to support local talent in Toronto then tour them abroad.
"Everything from the dramaturgy and choreography to costume design and theatrical makeup is carefully crafted in Toronto to produce the best quality local production," says Cabalka. "The innovative and original Jungle Book Circus show brings together the best actors, acrobats and dancers from Toronto and will amaze Dubai audiences with 10 songs, an aerial show, acrobatics and contemporary dance, topped off with brilliant costumes."
Ten CMart artists will perform 'Jungle Book Circus' for 15 days, twice a day, from June 13 to 29 at Burjuman Luxury Shopping Centre in Dubai. They are just a few of the 130 artists CMart will send to Dubai over the course of the summer. For more information visit www.cmartworldwide.com.
