Toronto Public Library kicks off Keep Toronto Reading Festival with pop up cellist performance at CN Tower March 17

TORONTO, March 13, 2014 /CNW/ - Toronto Public Library and the Toronto Symphony Orchestra present the first of 22 pop up cello performances at the CN Tower on March 17, at 2pm. 

The performances honour the actions of a character in the library's One Book community read, The Cellist of Sarajevo. The cellist performs Albinoni's Adagio for 22 days in the cratered streets of Sarajevo to commemorate 22 people killed in a bread line during the Siege of Sarajevo in the 1990s. TSO cellists recreate the cellist's actions by performing the same piece for 22 consecutive days at iconic Toronto locations.
