"I don't believe the City understands yet just how impressive this new hospital is going to be. It's going to be one of the finest hospital facilities in the country." - Doug Ford
TORONTO, Dec. 17, 2014 /CNW/ - On behalf of former Toronto Mayor Rob Ford and the Ford Family, former Toronto Councillor Doug Ford and Mrs. Diane Ford presented two cheques today to Humber River Hospital. The first, in the amount of $40,000, represents the proceeds raised from the Mayor Rob Ford Bobble Head initiative. The second, in the amount of $50,000, represents the Ford family's personal donation to the Capital Campaign now underway in support of the new Humber River Hospital.
Quotes:
"I know that Rob wanted to be here today, but that wasn't possible. But he wanted us to go ahead and get this money to the hospital because he understands just how important this great new hospital will be for the people of Toronto. I don't believe the City understands yet just how impressive this new hospital is going to be. It's going to be one of the finest hospital facilities in the country. We all need to get behind their fundraising campaign, because equipping North America's first fully digital hospital costs a lot of money, folks, and they deserve your support." -- Doug Ford
"The Ford family has always supported important grassroots community efforts, and this new hospital is extremely worthy of everyone's financial support. I know there are some generous people looking around this time of year to see where to put their charitable dollars – I would ask them to consider Humber River Hospital. They took wonderful care of my son, and I know they'll do great things here in the future." -- Mrs. Diane Ford
"The Ford family have been good friends to our hospital over the years, and we're grateful for this latest show of support by the family. Just as important for me is what the bobble head funds represent – a demonstration by the people of Toronto that they believe in what we're doing and that they are there for us. This is a community investment, designed to help us revolutionize healthcare." -- Rueben Devlin, President & CEO, Humber River Hospital.
"Our hearts are warmed today with the Ford family's announcement of their support towards the new Humber River Hospital. Their history of support of our hospital has already enriched the lives of thousands of people in our community. On behalf of the Humber River Hospital Foundation Board of Directors, I extend my heartfelt thanks to the Ford family – you are helping us open the doors to even better healthcare on October 18, 2015, and for that the entire city is grateful." -- Heather Hurst, President, Humber River Hospital Foundation.
