"A Growth Platform for Canadian Entrepreneurs" kicks off in Ottawa
TORONTO, April 10, 2012 /CNW/ - Toronto Stock Exchange and TSX Venture Exchange today launched their 2012 Canadian Financing Series, "A Growth Platform for Canadian Entrepreneurs", in Ottawa.
The series of six workshops is tailored to executives of Canadian companies seeking growth capital. The workshops will cover topics related to listing, such as how to prepare your company for going public, accessing capital and future financing options. A Canadian and international market update will be provided, as well as a finance panel discussion with leading Canadian investment banks.
For the workshops, Toronto Stock Exchange and TSX Venture Exchange have partnered with industry leading organizations across Canada such as the Association for Corporate Growth Toronto Chapter, Canadian Advanced Technology Alliance, CVCA - Canada's Venture Capital & Private Equity Association, Sustainable Development Technology Canada and BIOTECanada. The series will also provide the opportunity for invited guests to meet with legal, accounting and financial representatives who assist with the listing process.
"We are pleased to visit key markets across Canada to present the benefits of listing on our equity exchanges," said Kevan Cowan, President, TSX Markets and Group Head of Equities. "These workshops enable Canadian companies interested in raising capital to receive detailed information and to learn best practices about the going-public process."
In 2011, Toronto Stock Exchange and TSX Venture Exchange welcomed 480 new Canadian issuers, and equity capital raised was $51.1 billion on the exchanges. Together, the exchanges were sixth in the world for equity capital raised.
