Hailo partners with Molson Coors Canada in campaign for safest holiday season ever
TORONTO, Nov. 28, 2012 /CNW/ - Today, Toronto taxi app Hailo announced an unprecedented holiday giveaway: one million dollars in free taxi fares. It's part of a campaign to ensure the safest holiday season ever in the City of Toronto.
"At Hailo, we make it easy to get home from any holiday gathering - allowing anyone to hail and pay for a taxi with two taps on the screen of their smartphone," said Justin Raymond, President, Hailo Canada. "And now, we're making it easier on the wallet, too. We want to make it simple for people to choose the safe way home after a holiday celebration."
Beginning today and running until New Year's Eve, Hailo will give away one million dollars of Hailo cab fare in $10 increments at more than 100 licensed establishments across Toronto. Partnerships with the bars and restaurants were secured together with Molson Coors Canada.
"Safe travel becomes much more important during the holidays. At Molson Coors, we're committed to helping consumers make responsible choices about having a good time," explained Carole Berry, Lead, Corporate Responsibility Programming for Molson Coors Canada. "We're proud to play our part by encouraging every Torontonian to plan a safe ride home with Hailo."
Launched in Toronto in September 2012, Hailo, the world's largest app-based taxi service, was originally founded in 2011 in London, England by three taxi drivers and three internet entrepreneurs who set out to bring a centuries-old industry into the 21st century.
"This holiday season is our first in Toronto, and we wanted to give something back to the city that's welcomed us so warmly," concluded Raymond. "What better way to give back than with a million dollars of cab fare to help ensure a safe and happy holiday season? We can't wait to ring in 2013 with all of our fans and customers."
