Toronto's Entertainment District Opens Reservations Lines to City's Annual "Winterlicous" Prix Fixe Dining Event
TORONTO, Jan. 15, 2015 /CNW/ - Restaurateurs in Toronto's Entertainment District are now taking reservations for Winterlicious 2015, a city-wide showcase of prix fixe menus and culinary events presented by Interac Association. Representing this year's more than 200 Toronto dining establishments are chefs from 27 of the Toronto Entertainment District Business Improvement Area's (TOED) restaurants. The annual "Winterlicious" promotion in The District features diverse cuisine with exclusive prix fixe menu seating. Dining begins on January 30 and runs through to February 12, 2015.
According to Janice Solomon, Executive Director of TOED, "…Toronto's Entertainment District has welcomed "Winterlicious" since its launch in 2003. Since then, Winterlicious and Summerlicious have served over 4.3 million meals and have generated more than $190 million in economic activity for the local culinary industry. Our members value their annual participation in these promotions and look forward to ensuring that even more diners are introduced to their menus in 2015."
The three "Winterlicious" Entertainment District restaurants with a dinner only option include: Benihana at The Fairmont Royal York, Luckee by Susur Lee and The Fifth Grill and Terrace. Dinner at these restaurants range from $35 - $45 per person and is exclusive of taxes and gratuities.
In addition, 24 "Winterlicious" lunch and dinner options are available in the Entertainment District and include: 259 Host, Aria Ristorante, Arriba Restaurant at Renaissance Toronto Downtown Hotel, Azure Restaurant and Bar at InterContinental Toronto Centre, Big Daddy's Bourbon Street Bistro & Oyster Bar, Bosk at Shangri-La Hotel Toronto, Canteen, Canyon Creek, EPIC at The Fairmont Royal York, Fred's Not Here, Horizons Restaurant at The CN Tower, Hush Restaurant, Joe Badali's, King Street Social at the Hyatt Regency Toronto, La Fenice, Los Colibris, Luma, Marcel's Bistro, Michael's on Simcoe, Momofuko Daishō, Momofuku Noodle Bar, The Fifth Pubhouse, The Shore Club and Tutti Matti. The pre fixe lunch menus at these restaurants start at $18 through to $28 per person. Their pre fixe dinner menus are set at a slightly higher rate, spanning $25 to $45 per person. All "Winterlicious" lunch and dinners are priced exclusive of taxes and gratuities.
Returning this year to the District for a second engagement is one the fifteen much anticipated Culinary Events: Breaking Bread with the Walshes at the Malaparte event space, located in the TIFF Bell Lightbox. On Tuesday, February 12, 2015, the District will welcome Celebrity Chef Anthony Walsh and his immediate and culinary family to prepare his renowned authentic Canadian cuisine, infused with exotic flavours inspired by his wife's Argentinean roots. The meal features grass-fed beef from Grandview Farms with special wine pairings, served family-style at a long, harvest dining table.
