Toronto's Irish Community Marks 1916 Rising Centenary
TORONTO, March 26, 2016 /CNW/ - Toronto's Irish community will celebrate the Centenary of the 1916 Rising at an Easter Breakfast on Sunday, March 27, 2016 at the Sheraton Centre, 123 Queen St. West.
Doors open at 11 am. The commemoration is sponsored by Friends of Sinn Fein (Canada) Inc.
The guest speaker is Danny Morrison, Sinn Fein's former Publicity Director and spokesperson for Bobby Sands in his 1981 Hunger Strike.
A formal program, including the reading of the Proclamation in Irish and English will be followed by music from the band Fresh Eire.
The breakfast is open to the media.
