TORONTO, Jan. 26, 2016 /CNW/ - Following its heroic debut last Thursday night, CTV's new hit series DC's LEGENDS OF TOMORROW has been promoted to the most-coveted timeslot in primetime television on a special day and time immediately following SUPER BOWL 50 coverage – Sunday, Feb. 7 at approximately 10 p.m. ET/7 p.m. PT on CTV (visit CTV.ca to confirm local listings).

With three days of playback, DC's LEGENDS OF TOMORROW has 1.9 million viewers for its Jan. 21 premiere, making it the #2 mid-season series to debut this year with total viewers and all key demos. It's also the biggest Thursday night debut of any new series this season, delivering 13% more viewers than the SHADES OF BLUE (1.7 million; Global/NBC) premiere, and 19% more viewers than the premiere of HEROES REBORN (1.6 million; Global/NBC). Overall, DC's LEGENDS OF TOMORROW reached 3.9 million viewers during its broadcast premiere. Social networks were abuzz with #LegendsofTomorrow trending across Canada on Twitter during Thursday night's broadcast premiere.

CTV is home to SUPER BOWL 50, the most-watched television event in Canada, on Sunday, Feb. 7. Pre-game coverage begins at 11 a.m. ET and culminates at 6 p.m. ET with live coverage of SUPER BOWL 50 featuring Peyton Manning and the Denver Broncos taking on Cam Newton and the Carolina Panthers at Levi's Stadium in Santa Clara, California.

The story continues in the second part of the two-part pilot episode of DC's LEGENDS OF TOMORROW  this Thursday, Jan. 28 at 8:30 p.m. ET/PT on CTV immediately following THE BIG BANG THEORY when, tipped off to Vandal Savage's (Casper Crump) whereabouts, the team infiltrates a munitions deal with Professor Stein (Victor Garber) as their leader. Surrounded by some of the toughest criminals in the world, things quickly go from bad to worse when Savage realizes they don't belong there. A massive fight ensues and a piece of the Atom's (Brandon Routh) suit falls off and into the wrong hands, which could potentially cause disastrous consequences in the future. Stein realizes the best way to retrieve the missing piece is to contact a brilliant man – his younger self. He, Sara (Caity Lotz) and Jax (Franz Drameh) head off in search of young Martin Stein (Graeme McComb), much to Rip's (Arthur Darvill) consternation. 

In Episode 3 of DC's LEGENDS OF TOMORROW, entitled "Blood Ties" (Feb. 4 at 8:30 p.m. ET/PT on CTV), Rip (Arthur Darvill) decides to weaken Vandal Savage (Casper Crump) by going after his financial assets. Rip and Sara (Caity Lotz) infiltrate Savage's bank, but are discovered by his men. Meanwhile, Snart (Wentworth Miller) and Rory (Dominic Purcell) talk Jax (Franz Drameh) into taking the jump ship back to Central City so they can steal a valuable emerald. Professor Stein (Victor Garber) guides Ray (Brandon Routh) on a dangerous mission.

Then, on an all–new DC's LEGENDS OF TOMORROW entitled "White Knights," airing immediately following SUPER BOWL 50 coverage (Feb. 7 at approx. 10 p.m. ET/7 p.m. PT on CTV), when Vandal Savage (Casper Crump) retreats behind the Iron Curtain in the early 1980s, a string of nuclear scientists begins to mysteriously disappear. The team follows Vandal's trail straight into the heart of the Soviet Union in an attempt to find his next target. Ray (Brandon Routh) tries to bond with a beautiful Soviet scientist, Valentina Vostock (guest star Stephanie Corneliussen, MR. ROBOT), in the hopes of finding out Vandal's next move.

After the special post SUPER BOWL broadcast,  DC's LEGENDS OF TOMORROW resumes its regular timeslot of Thursdays at 8:30 p.m. ET/PT, beginning Feb. 11 on CTV.
