Toulouse-Blagnac Airport will be the first airport in France to deploy a remote screening software solution for cabin baggage
PARIS, FRANCE, March 6, 2015 /CNW Telbec/ - Toulouse-Blagnac Airport, in partnership with Optosecurity and Smiths Detection are proud to announce the first deployment of Checkpoint.Evo in France, in the Hall D Checkpoint of the airport.
The software solution enables remote screening of hand baggage for multiple security checkpoints. Scanned baggage X-ray images are sent in real time to centralized screening location where a group of security agents perform image analysis.
The project aims to deploy Checkpoint.Evo on two lanes at the Hall D Checkpoint at Toulouse-Blagnac Airport. This first deployment in France is expected for summer 2015 and its objectives are to increase security, checkpoint productivity, passenger throughput, and to reduce operational costs. Checkpoint.Evo is also expected to be deployed gradually on a larger scale throughout the airport, starting in 2017.
"We believe this new approach will enable us to be more efficient and more competitive. It will allow security agents to work in the best possible conditions and allow passengers to benefit from a better experience. With Toulouse being a very high profile center of innovation in the aviation industry, it was important for us to be the first ones in France to adopt this technology." states Alain de la Meslière, COO of Toulouse Blagnac Airport.
"This first deployment in France is a key step in the continued growth of Optosecurity and its growth in the European market. We are very proud that Toulouse Airport, one of the leaders in aviation innovation in Europe, has chosen our solution and has taken this leadership role." states Eric Bergeron, CEO and Founder of Optosecurity.
