Tour a Burlington home retrofitted to reduce the risk of basement flooding
TORONTO, Dec. 9, 2014 /CNW/ - The Institute for Catastrophic Loss Reduction (ICLR) retrofitted a Burlington, Ontario home to reduce the risk of basement flooding. As part of the insurance industry's ongoing commitment to educate Canadian homeowners about disaster safety, ICLR has chosen a community recently affected by a significant rainfall event which left thousands of homes with basement flooding in order to demonstrate the important role homeowners can and should play in urban/basement flood mitigation.
Where: 389 Beechwood Crescent., Burlington, Ontario
When: Thursday, December 11, 2014 at 11 am EST (until noon EST)
Several representatives from ICLR will be on hand to conduct tours of the house and answer technical questions relating to urban flooding, basement flood mitigation and the retrofit. Also on hand will be Burlington Mayor Rick Goldring.
