The architecturally unique building celebrates its topping-off by supporting the Montreal Canadiens Children's Foundation
MONTREAL, Dec. 7, 2015 /CNW Telbec/ - Cadillac Fairview, Canderel, the Fonds immobilier de solidarité FTQ and the Montreal Canadiens Hockey Club today fittingly marked the arrival of the Holidays by celebrating the finalization of the exterior structure — called the topping-off ceremony — one of the tallest condo towers in Montreal that will change the skyline of the downtown core : Tour des Canadiens.
The first phase of Tour des Canadiens was an unprecedented success, proving to be the fastest-selling real estate project in Montreal's history. The imminent completion of the 50-storey structure marks a major step in the project's construction, and its future owners are scheduled to begin moving in by the summer of 2016, as planned.
"Tour des Canadiens, and the recently announced Tour des Canadiens 2, represent the best and brightest that Montreal has to offer; a dynamic and exciting residential setting where sports, culture and entertainment are an integral part of everyday life," said Daniel Peritz, Senior Vice-President at Canderel, adding: "Tour des Canadiens condo owners will soon be able to enjoy the most exciting and complete urban living experience in town."
To celebrate this milestone, the project partners also wanted to confirm their commitment to the community. Tour des Canadiens will be located at the corner of Avenue des Canadiens-de-Montréal and Rue De la Montagne, within the Quad Windsor district, Cadillac Fairview's majestic development project that will continue the natural extension of Montreal's downtown core and bring much-improved connections to neighbouring districts, such as Little Burgundy and Griffintown.
Concretely, Cadillac Fairview and Tour des Canadiens partners have donated $5,000 each, or a total of $10,000, to the Montreal Canadiens Children's Foundation, to support charities such as Tyndale St-Georges Community Centre, whose mission includes providing programs and services that help children in the Little Burgundy community, neighbour of Tour des Canadiens.
"Cadillac Fairview is resolutely committed to Montreal's future," said Brian Salpeter, Senior Vice-President, Development, Eastern Canada, Cadillac Fairview. "Our redevelopment plan is aimed at transforming the area around Bell Centre and building bridges with the surrounding communities. We are pleased to support local organizations that are helping to improve the quality of life of these communities' residents."
Representatives of the Montreal Canadiens Children's Foundation and Tyndale St-Georges Community Centre, accompanied by a dozen children who participate in the Centre's programs and who were invited to come meet the Montreal Canadiens mascot, Youppi!, were on hand for the cheque presentation.
"We are very grateful for this generous gesture from the Tour des Canadiens partners to support our actions to help vulnerable children. Their generous contribution will allow us to support organizations like the Tyndale St-Georges Community Centre and to encourage children to be more active and embrace healthy lifestyles", said Geneviève Paquette, Executive Director, Montreal Canadiens Children's Foundation.
Tour des Canadiens 2, the highly anticipated second phase of this outstanding residential complex, features distinguished units and common areas and also offers potential buyers access to a choice location in the heart of Quad Windsor, a lively and dynamic new neighbourhood directly connected to a public transit hub.
The 438 suites of Tour des Canadiens 2 feature contemporary European-inspired design, with prices starting under $200,000. The project also has a number of unique spaces, such as the Skylounge, located on the building's top floor and offering outstanding views of the city, two swimming pools complete with patio and fireplace, a wine bar with private refrigerated cellar and a games room with Canadiens-inspired arena seating, large flat-screen televisions, a bar and a billiard table.
Like its predecessor, Tour des Canadiens 2 will also offer owners unprecedented access to the Montreal Canadiens, from priority access to game tickets to private viewing of Canadiens practice sessions and Habs store discounts. The project will also be directly connected to Montreal's largest intermodal transit hub and to the RESO Underground City, one of the world's largest subterranean pedestrian networks, through an overhead footbrige crossing Saint-Antoine Street.
To give potential buyers a real possibility to see and feel what it will be like to live at Tour des Canadiens 2, the project's partners have made a significant investment in an extraordinary sales office of nearly 9,000 square feet that has been welcoming visitors since mid-November.
Those interested in purchasing at Tour des Canadiens 2 should register online at tourdescanadiens.com or visit the sales centre at 750 Rue Peel, corner of St-Antoine.
