PARADISE, NL, May 11, 2020 /CNW/ - The Town of Paradise is implementing a digital procurement system to enable all tender and procurement opportunities to be managed securely online through the Town's website. Effective immediately, all bids and proposals will be accessed and submitted electronically, offering vendors a streamlined and more efficient process.
"The Town has been reviewing online options for our procurement process with a focus on making it more efficient for both vendors and staff. With the current COVID-19 pandemic, we decided to move forward with the implementation now so that we can continue with procurement work and business continuity while fully supporting public health guidelines," said Dan Bobbett, Town of Paradise Mayor.
The Town's procurement opportunities have always been posted to the website with vendors submitting proposals and required documentation in printed format, delivered or mailed to the Town Hall. With the bids&tenders digital procurement platform (https://paradise.bidsandtenders.ca/Module/Tenders/en) the process moves completely online as vendors will make all submissions digitally over the secure platform. Printed submissions will no longer be accepted.
"Implementing a fully online procurement process supports Your Paradise: Plan 2022, our new strategic plan as well as our continuous improvement initiatives. We are continually reviewing our operations and looking for ways to enhance service delivery, find efficiencies, and where possible, reduce the carbon footprint - the bids&tenders online platform meets all those objectives," said Mayor Bobbett.
The online system provides vendors with a platform to both access and respond to procurement opportunities. The systems offers many enhanced features for bidders including the ability to download all documentation rather than request paper copies, submit bids online which eliminates paper-based submissions, and mandatory information requirements which ensure accuracy and completeness of bids. The system also assists staff with proposal evaluation, result notifications, and contract management.
Vendors interested in responding to the Town's procurement opportunities are required to create an account on the online system. All registered vendors will receive automatic notifications on relevant opportunities.
The bids&tenders portal is available on the Town's website at: https://www.paradise.ca/en/work/Bids-and-Tenders.aspx
