Hybrid vehicle sales leading the charge, up 21.2%
TORONTO, Dec. 3, 2018 /CNW/ - Toyota Canada Inc. (TCI) reported another record sales month, with 18,731 units sold in November, up 10.4% compared to 2017.
Toyota Division posted sales of 16,787 vehicles, up 11.5% compared to last year for its best November yet, while Lexus Division posted sales of 1,944 vehicles, up 1.7% compared to last year for its best November yet.
"We're seeing record numbers of Canadians buying our cars, trucks and electrified vehicles," said Larry Hutchinson, President and CEO, Toyota Canada Inc. "We'd like to thank our customers for the continued trust and confidence they show in our products."
Hybrid vehicle sales continue to climb
As Canadians continue to turn to electrified vehicles, TCI continues to lead the way with record hybrid vehicle sales. TCI reported a record November for hybrid sales with 2,039 units sold, up 21.2% compared to 2017. Hybrid sales represented 10.9% of TCI's total sales for the month.
Additional November Highlights:
- TCI car sales of 6,631 units, up 8.9%
- Corolla sales of 3,670 units, up 26.6%
- Prius sales of 358 units, up 13.3%
- TCI truck sales of 12,100 units, up 11.3% (new November record)
- RAV4 sales of 4,720 units, up 22.8% (new November record)
- Tacoma sales of 1,142 units, up 17.4%
- Tundra sales of 998 units, up 13.2%
