Transportation Safety Board of Canada deploys a team to the site of a derailment near Canora, Saskatchewan Français
WINNIPEG, April 29, 2013 /CNW/ - The Transportation Safety Board of Canada (TSB) is deploying a team of investigators to the site of a derailment near Canora, Saskatchewan. Yesterday, at approximately 19:30 Central Time, a VIA Rail passenger train derailed 2 locomotives and 2 coach cars. All 7 passengers and 4 crew were evacuated safely and there were no injuries. The TSB will gather information and assess the occurrence.
The TSB is an independent agency that investigates marine, pipeline, railway and aviation transportation occurrences. Its sole aim is the advancement of transportation safety. It is not the function of the Board to assign fault or determine civil or criminal liability.
