Travel Advisory - All VIA trains back to normal following winter storm in
south-western Ontario
TORONTO, Dec. 15 /CNW Telbec/ - Following the winter storm that hit much of south-western Ontario over the past couple of days, VIA Rail Canada wishes to advise travellers that all trains in the region are now operating normally, with only minor delays on the Toronto-Sarnia and Toronto-Windsor routes.
Thanks to efforts in place to clear heavy snow accumulation from the tracks and switches as quickly as possible, no trains were cancelled during the storm. That being said, trains on these routes did experience significant delays, as much as seven hours for one departure from Sarnia to Toronto via London.
Although outside the company's control, VIA nonetheless sincerely regrets any inconvenience these delays may have caused to its customers, and wishes to thank them for their patience and understanding.
Information and reservations are available at viarail.ca, at 1 888 VIA-RAIL (888 842-7245), at TTY 800-268-9503 for the hearing impaired, or through your travel agent.
