Travel Underwriters Expresses Condolences & Support to Family of BC Man
VANCOUVER, Nov. 22 /CNW/ - Travel Underwriters, today expressed its deepest condolences to the family of Mike McDonald who died tragically in the Dominican Republic on Saturday.
"Our hearts go out to all of Mike's family and friends during this time of unspeakable grief," said Michael Starko, Executive Director for Travel Underwriters. "Travel Underwriters continues to stand by and support Mike's family in every way we can."
Mike McDonald of Kamloops, BC, slipped and hit his head on November 6 while attending a friend's wedding in the Dominican Republic and had been recovering at a private hospital until complications from the injury resulted in his death.
"It's all the more tragic as Mike, according to his family and medical team, was recovering well and looking forward to returning to Canada when he took an unexpected turn for the worse early Friday morning," said Starko.
"Our primary concern for any individuals we insure is that they receive timely, quality care. Our administration of a claim never stands in the way of proper care being provided to our clients. All those who purchase our policies can be confident that they will receive the care they need when and where they need it," added Starko.
Starko, who has been directly involved in the case, reiterated that the company will continue to cover all of the family's medical, travel and related expenses, including the cost of repatriating Mike's body to Canada and will continue supporting the family in whatever way possible in their time of grieving.
