Trek Closing In On $500,000 For Tourette
MISSISSAUGA, ON, March 20, 2012 /CNW/ - The Tourette Syndrome Foundation of Canada (TSFC) has confirmed that all-time donations are nearing $500,000 leading up to Canada's national Tourette Syndrome (TS) fundraiser, the 4th Annual Trek for Tourette, held in 18 communities on Sunday, March 25 th, 2012. Dressed in green and wearing signature toques, 'trekkers' will march for enhanced education, awareness and acceptance. The Trek is always in March, a wintry month, so it will be "as challenging as the lives of people affected by TS, with weather as unpredictable as the disorder itself."
TS is a poorly understood neurological disorder that affects as many as one in 100 Canadians. It begins in childhood and has no cure.
