QUÉBEC, March 20, 2014 /CNW Telbec/ - With much pride yesterday, René Rouleau, Chairman of the Board and Chief Executive Officer of La Capitale Financial Group, officially displayed the LEED®-CI (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) certification plaques for interior design by six tenants of the Delta 3 building, located at 2875 Laurier Blvd in Quebec City.

A win-win initiative
"Sustainable development is a priority for La Capitale. We take concrete action, as an environmentally responsible corporate citizen. We stand behind our tenants who decide to take the measures necessary to qualify for LEED®-CI certification. It's a modern way of engaging and retaining employees. The effects on health and productivity have been demonstrated," declared René Rouleau, Chairman of the Board and Chief Executive Officer. He added, "Our building in Mississauga and the Delta 3 have both received LEED® CS Gold certification. Certification of our head office, located on Quebec City's Parliament Hill, is pending. Our desire is to qualify for LEED®-NC Gold certification."
Access to more contracts
In some cases, LEED® CI certification is recommended, if not essential, in order to obtain major national, international and government contracts. It enables business people to gain access to a larger portion of the market and, as a result, to more revenue. To obtain LEED®-CI certification, tenants are judged on the basis of interior environment, effective water management, sustainable site development, energy and atmosphere, materials and resources, and innovation.
Unique commercial building
The Delta 3, which was inaugurated in 2010, is the first and, to date, only commercial building in the Quebec City area with LEED®-CS Gold certification. In 2012, the building won BOMA's 2011-2012 Building of the Year award (100,000 - 249,000 sq ft category). This is the most prestigious recognition conferred by the Quebec commercial real estate industry.
