TORONTO and CALGARY, May 14, 2013 /CNW/ - Today, TRTech and the Canadian Digital Media Network (CDMN) announced that they will co-host the 6th annual Canada 3.0 conference to be held for the first time in Western Canada at the Calgary TELUS Convention Centre on May 26th-28th, 2014.
Canada 3.0 has been an annual event since 2009. Started by CDMN, it is now Canada's largest annual digital media conference. TRTech, a hub on the CDMN, and CDMN are long-time partners working to assist early stage, midsize and large digital media and Information and Communications Technology (ICT) and mobile companies to commercialize their products and services, for national and international markets.
The Canada 3.0 2014 conference will be themed Digital Innovation: Enabling the Energy Economy. It will bring together digital technology innovators and energy leaders to address issues, activities and collaboration opportunities in two of Western Canada's strongest industries.
Rob Tasker, President & CEO of TRTech and co-host for Canada 3.0 2014 says, "We're very pleased to co-host Canada 3.0 with our long-time partner, CDMN. The resource sector is the largest contributor to the Western and Canadian economies; our focus for 2014 is to strengthen the cooperation between the energy, environmental and ICT sectors to increase development, adoption and export of innovation."
Kevin Tuer, Managing Director of CDMN and the co-host for Canada 3.0 2014 says, "We're excited to co-host Canada 3.0 with our Western Canada partner, TRTech. This is a great opportunity for our more than 20 regional commercialization hubs across Canada to unite once again. Through greater collaboration across Canada, we're able to move closer to our goal of becoming a world leader in digital media."
The energy industry relies heavily on innovation, including ICT solutions, to help address its sustainability needs related to environmental monitoring and protection, increasing the industry's productivity and filling the increasing need for skilled labour. Canada 3.0 2014 will explore these issues with presentations from keynote speakers, a global forum with selected international partners, themed workshops and a student program. Canada 3.0 will be an opportunity for ICT and energy companies to exhibit and network during the event.
Canada 3.0 2014 is made possible through the support of our sponsors and partners. Our launch sponsors are: AITF (www.albertatechfutures.ca), TECTERRA (www.tecterra.com), Cybera (www.cybera.ca and Wavefront www.wavefrontac.com).
