TORONTO, Aug. 25, 2014 /CNW/ - Food Network Canada takes viewers on an edible excursion across North America this fall with the addition of two Canadian original series Food Truck Face Off and Carnival Eats. Hosted by Canadian reality star and ESPN sportscaster Jesse Palmer, the high-octane series Food Truck Face Off debuts October 12 at 8pm ET/PT. The adventure-packed Carnival Eats, hosted by funnyman Noah Cappe, premieres September 5 at 9pm ET/6pm PT. And returning for a second season on September 8 at 9pm ET/6pm PT is the gluttonous favourite Donut Showdown with new host Daryn Jones.
Driving onto the fall schedule is the series premiere of Food Truck Face Off hosted by Canadian heartthrob Jesse Palmer (The Bachelor). Premiering October 12 at 8pm ET/PT, each episode sees four teams duke it out for the ultimate prize: their very own customized food truck for one full year. With only two teams making it past the first round, in the end only the team that makes the most money from two days of frenzied selling will win it all. The curbside battle heads to Miami, LA, Austin and the Greater Toronto Area, bringing Canadian judge Zane Caplansky, radio personality Steak Shapiro, master sommelier Alpana Singh, restaurateur Andrew Gruel, and food truck expert Robyn Almodovar along for the ride.
From truck rides to carnival rides, the brand new Canadian original series Carnival Eats makes its mouth-watering debut on September 5 at 9pm ET/6pm PT. Hosted by Toronto-born, self-dubbed "professional eater" Noah Cappe (Defiance), each episode takes viewers across North America's palatable playground to discover the continent's most outrageous "stunt foods," the wacky characters that create them, and the culinary thrill seekers who devour them.
Also devouring a spot on Food Network Canada's fall schedule is Donut Showdown, returning for a second season on Monday, September 8 with back-to-back episodes beginning at 9pm ET/6pm PT. Hosted by Daryn Jones (Over The Rainbow), each episode of Donut Showdown brings three donut savants head-to-head-to-head to test their creativity and donut-making skills. Canadian judges David Rocco, Zane Caplansky and Maggie McKeown return to the judges' panel while host of Eden Eats and Toronto-born Eden Grinshpan, Top Chef Masters alumni Elizabeth Falkner, Ace of Cakes star Duff Goldman, and Forbes 2012 Food & Wine 30-under-30 recipient Jeff Mahin round out this season's roster of judges.
