MONTREAL, Nov. 1, 2018 /CNW Telbec/ - True Patriot Love Foundation and GardaWorld are proud to announce the expansion of the Veterans Transition Network program to support female Veterans in Quebec. The program, the first of its kind in the province, is designed to support women Veterans who are struggling in their transition to civilian life and who are at a greater risk of anxiety, depression and isolation.
GardaWorld values the expertise of Veterans and Reservists because of their shared values and work ethic. The company, which has a worldwide presence, is pleased to have hundreds of employees with a military profile.
"We are an employer of choice for Veterans and Reservists," said the Honourable Christian Paradis, Senior Vice President at GardaWorld and former Federal Minister. We recognize the value of their skills and abilities developed within the Canadian Armed Forces. "
"In fact, we offer quality jobs that are perfectly aligned with their military training: security, cash services, international logistics, risk management consulting services, etc. A veteran can therefore use her knowledge at GardaWorld to give a second wind to her career " added Martin Regimbald, Vice President, Human Resources.
Behind this new program is a team of dedicated professionals for whom the rehabilitation and well-being of female Veterans is at the heart of their concerns.
"At True Patriot Love Foundation, we're committed to providing essential support and resources to Canadian military members, Veterans and their families, and we're proud to have partnered with the Veterans Transition Network since 2012," said Bronwen Evans, CEO, True Patriot Love Foundation. "We are grateful for GardaWorld's support that will enable the expansion of the program into Quebec, which will help support the many women who need assistance with their transition to civilian life."
The new program can also count on the support of VIA Rail as a transportation partner. VIA Rail has had very close ties with the Canadian Armed Forces and Veterans for many years.
"VIA Rail applauds this initiative for women who have served so courageously. Diversity and equity underpin our efforts to recruit and promote our workforce," said Yves Desjardins-Siciliano, President of VIA Rail Canada. "By partnering with GardaWorld and True Patriot Love, VIA Rail supports participants in this innovative program aimed at improving their well-being and helping them prepare for a return to civilian life. Among other things, VIA Rail will provide transportation for the participants."
The new training program for Quebec Veterans, offered by True Patriot Love in partnership with GardaWorld and with VIA Rail's support, is specifically designed to improve the quality of life for these women. It is a program to facilitate and ease the transition of women Veterans to civilian life, thanks to a team of professionals who have their future at heart.
The amount of the financial contribution from GardaWorld and its partners will be announced tonight at an event at the Saint-James Club in Montreal.
