True Patriot Love Foundation partners with CIBC to Support Canada's Military Children with Special Needs
True Patriot Love thanks CIBC for generous commitment to Military Families
TORONTO, Nov. 9, 2015 /CNW/ - True Patriot Love Foundation (TPL) is pleased to announce a partnership with CIBC that includes a generous multi-year gift of $250,000 in support of Canada's Military Children with Special Needs. Founded in 2009, TPL is dedicated to bridging the gap between the military and civilian communities, by acting as a crucial conduit that allows corporate Canada to show its support and appreciation for the brave military servicemen and women of the Canadian Forces.
The funds from the multi-year gift will specifically be used to benefit Canadian Military families with children with special needs, to provide financial relief for various required processes, such as tutoring, necessary assessments, respite care and essential therapies such as speech, visual and behavioural therapy.
"Military families who move frequently are impacted greatly from both an emotional and financial perspective," said Bronwen Evans, President at True Patriot Love. "Frequently moving location affects children and families in a variety of capacities, including increased costs for therapies for children with special needs, tutoring for children who have to adjust to a new curriculum, and the anxieties of having to make friends in a new community."
"True Patriot Love is sincerely grateful for the leading role CIBC has played in supporting our Military families," said Jaime Wilson, VP of Development at True Patriot Love. "Together, we are committed to seeing positive change for not only our men and women in uniform, but for the families that stand behind them."
"As part of our ongoing commitment to Canada's Armed Forces and to help kids build a better future, CIBC is proud to mark Remembrance Day with a new commitment that will benefit military families with special needs children by providing financial aid and resources," said Stephen Forbes, Executive Vice-President, CIBC. "We are pleased to partner with True Patriot Love Foundation to honour the sacrifices of Canada's military servicemen and women."
True Patriot Love Foundation relies on support from companies such as CIBC in order to provide funds for military programs that address TPL's four areas of focus: mental health and well-being, physical health and rehabilitation, family health and support and research and innovation. TPL is grateful for this multi-year partnership with CIBC.
