Weekend at the Prix Gémeaux
TORONTO, Aug. 10 /CNW/ - The Canada Media Fund (CMF) today announced a contest for a chance to win a VIP weekend for two to Montréal, including transportation, two nights' accommodation, and tickets to the 2010 Prix Gémeaux gala. Visitors to the contest website, www.turnoncanada.ca, will make the connection between the Gémeaux-nominated shows they love to watch and the funding agency that supports their creation.
In one game, hints related to a television program are provided and players must select the correct show from a list of CMF-funded shows. In another game, players will test their memory as they locate pairs of matching images of CMF-funded shows and matching icons for a variety of media platforms supported by the CMF.
Contest entrants will also learn that the CMF:
- champions the creation of Canadian television and digital media content with $351 million in funding this year;
- funds the production of their favourite drama, documentary, kids, and variety and performing arts shows;
- ensures they can interact with their favourite shows on TV, online, and on the go;
- supports the future of content and content delivery in Canada by funding experimental projects;
- supported the production of 81 shows that are nominated for Prix Gémeaux awards this year; and
- was created by Canada's cable and satellite service distributors and the Government of Canada.
