Turtle Island Recycling Welcomes Earth Month 2010 - Plans Several Activities
to Celebrate the Planet and Encourage Environmental Sustainability
TORONTO, April 1 /CNW/ - Turtle Island Recycling is pleased to welcome the arrival of Earth Month on April 1, and is honoring this year's event by participating in a number of educational events, as well as distributing information to businesses and their employees to increase awareness of the many opportunities that exist to reduce our impact on the environment.
"As a leading provider of innovative, recycling and environmental management solutions we are uniquely positioned to assist companies with their sustainability initiatives, and always look forward to Earth Month as an excellent opportunity to showcase the many options available for businesses and their employees to operate in ways that are more friendly to the environment" said John Ferreira, CEO of Turtle Island Recycling.
Some of the ways Turtle Island will be participating in Earth Month 2010 include:
- running an information booth at the Air Canada Centre from April 1 to April 7, which is Earth Week for both the NHL and NBA - distributing a helpful special edition "Earth Month Tips" newsletter to all Turtle Island Recycling customers and interested visitors to the many events the company will be participating in during the month - supporting various Turtle Island customer Earth Month employee education initiatives - being available and on call to answer questions companies may have about how to increase the amount of waste they divert from landfills through recycling
"One of the really exciting aspects of our business is that it's always changing" said Louis Anagnostakos, Cofounder and Chief Innovation Officer at Turtle Island Recycling. "The list of items we're able to recycle keeps growing all the time, which is great for the environment, and directly supports the reason we're in business - to help companies operate in the most sustainable manner possible."
