TV personalities Dan Woods and David Grainger join Centennial College's 'Show and Shine,' June 1
TORONTO, May 8, 2014 /CNW/ - TV personalities Dan Woods of 'Chop Cut Rebuild' and David Grainger of 'Restoration Garage' will be at Centennial College on Sunday, June 1 as part of the college's eighth annual "Show and Shine" auto show in Scarborough.
On display will be vintage, custom and tuner cars, trucks and motorcycles owned by Centennial employees and graduates, as well as members of the public. Centennial is celebrating the opening of its new "gateway" building at its Ashtonbee Campus, home to Canada's largest transportation technology training centre.
Toronto native Dan Woods will be on hand to check out some hot cars and talk to fans about his popular show (trivia: Dan also played Principal Raditch on the 'Degrassi' series). David Grainger, who operates the Guild of Automotive Restorers in Bradford, will be bringing a couple of restored hot-rods. In addition, pro builder Legendary Motors will be showing off a project vehicle.
The day includes a barbecue, DJ, sponsor booths, airbag demonstrations, show prizes and plaques. Lincoln Electric will be running a welding competition with a MIG welder as the grand prize. Proceeds from a 50/50 draw will be directed to The Lesley Russell Scholarship, established to aid college students coping with serious illness.
Show and Shine admission is free. The public is invited to display their own vehicles of interest, but come early as space is limited (display fee is $10 per vehicle). Gates open at 7:30 am and close at 4 pm. Centennial's Ashtonbee Campus is located at 75 Ashtonbee Road, one block north of Eglinton Ave. East and Warden Ave.
Note to editors: Dan Woods and David Grainger are available for media interviews prior to the June 1 event.
