MONTREAL, Sept 29, 2015 /CNW Telbec/ - Lucie Dumas, Vice President Group Publisher, Magazine Division at TVA Publications, yesterday announced three key appointments in the company's Toronto office management.

Christopher Purcell, Vice President Marketing and Circulation and General Manager, Toronto
With the added responsibility of General Manager, Toronto, Mr. Purcell will now oversee all business operations in Toronto. Working closely with the Group Publisher, he will ensure the proper operations and collaboration of all staff, while supervising the strategic development plan for circulation and subscriptions. In addition to his vast expertise in circulation and subscriptions, Mr. Purcell will become the lynchpin for all operations. He will be an active member of the management committee under Lucie Dumas and will represent the company to the industry as a circulation specialist.
In his role as Vice President Marketing and Circulation, Mr. Purcell has been responsible for the circulation strategy and consumer marketing for 27 French and English language print & digital magazines including marquee brands: Canadian Living, Coup de Pouce, Elle Canada, Moi & Cie, Style at Home, Clin D'Oeil , Les Idees De Ma Maison, Chez Soi, 7Jours and The Hockey News.
Prior to TVA, Mr. Purcell served with TC Media for eight years heading up Consumer marketing and leading the creation of TC Media's magazine tablet initiative with Apple's newsstand.
Mr. Purcell has had many circulation roles including BusinessWeek magazine's Global Consumer Marketing Director in New York and Circulation manager for Inc. magazine in Boston. He is an active member of several Magazines Canada Association media committees, plus sits on Alliance for Audited Media's Canadian Digital Advisory Committee. He sat on the board of The Circulation Management Association of Canada from 2008-2011 and won the Magazines Ontario volunteer of the year award in 2011.
Sandra E. Martin, Group Publisher
Having joined the team as Editor in Chief of Canadian Living with over 20 years of media experience, Ms Martin will now be in charge of content strategy for all Anglophone brands of TVA Publications: Canadian Living, Elle Canada, Style at Home, Canadian Gardening and The Hockey News. She will also be in charge of content management and brand image, as well as expanding our titles on a multi-platform basis, while supporting all sales activities. She will work closely with the two French-language Group Publishers, toward the goal of making our multi-platform magazine offer even more solid and profitable in Canada. Ms Martin will be an active member of the management committee under the purview of Lucie Dumas. TVA Publications will begin recruiting for an Editor in Chief for Canadian Living immediately, and Sandra will continue in that role as well until a replacement is found.
Since becoming Canadian Living's Editor in Chief last November, Ms Martin has led the magazine's editorial and art teams through a refresh of the brand's look and content approach, and has overseen audience growth both in print and online, as well as marked growth of the brand's social media following across multiple channels.
Prior to her arrival at Canadian Living, Ms Martin was a key contributor to on the development and launch of the very successful Walmart Live Better and Vivre mieux Walmart, multi-platform custom publications published by Rogers Media on behalf of Walmart Canada. Within months of launch under her direction as Editor in Chief, Walmart Live Better was recognized with multiple marketing and custom content awards. A two-time National Magazine Awards finalist, Ms Martin has served in senior editorial roles at Today's Parent and MoneySense magazines, as well as The National Post, among other publications.
Sarah Châtelain, Director of Marketing, Communications and Events, Toronto and Montréal
With the addition of her duties as Marketing Director in our Toronto offices, Sarah will lead all strategic marketing operations for the brand family of TVA Publications throughout Canada. She will work closely with Silvana Sciortino, Director of Marketing, Toronto, in the strategic deployment of our brands, and be in charge of publicity, sponsorships and events. She will work with the circulation, sales and content teams in the development of programs to grow our brands and enhance their profitability. Sarah will be an active member of the TVA Publications management committee under my supervision.
Part of the TVA Publications marketing team for 5 years and appointed as Marketing Director in 2014, Ms Châtelain has become a renowned specialist in publishing marketing. Capitalizing on the great changes arising in the publishing industry and on TVA's power and agility, she transformed her team into a project management center focused on developing strong and creative business partnerships with major clients that respond measurably to their objectives. Her team ensures our brands visibility, capitalizing on our brands' strengths and pertinent contents to ensure their exposure in the Canadian market. Appointed Entrepreneurship Ambassador by her peers in the employee recognition program in 2014, Sarah is recognized as a determined leader and team player.
