TVOKids' Ranger Kara saddles up, sharing the joy of reading with kids across Ontario
TORONTO, July 7, 2014 /CNW/ - Grab your cowboy hats, TVOKids host Ranger Kara is coming to town. Geared towards kids aged 4 to 11 and their families, Ranger Kara visits 7 cities across Ontario from July 26 to November 9, 2014, reading Canadian children's books as part of the Read with Ranger Kara Tour.
"Reading is one of the cornerstones of learning and with the ongoing support of TD Bank Group, we are able to bring the Read with Ranger Kara tour to local communities across Ontario," said Lisa de Wilde, TVO Chief Executive Officer. "Once again, with TD's support, TVOKids will be inspiring and getting children excited about reading."
Kids can get creative and enjoy learning with fun activities onsite and get up close with Ranger Kara in a meet-and-greet autograph session following each event.
"Reading can often be taken for granted, but it is a skill that is fundamental for success in education and beyond," said Alan Convery, Senior Manager, Community Relations, TD Bank Group. "At TD we are committed to promoting children's literacy and supporting programs that ensure access to education as well as inspire a love of learning – and that's why we are thrilled to work with TVOKids on this wonderful initiative."
TVOKids provides children across Ontario with on-air and online content based on the school curriculum; kids can watch Kara on tvokids.com and as a host on TVO's afterschool programming block, The Space, Monday to Friday from 3:30 pm to 7 pm.
TVOKids is proud to work with TD Bank Group as presenting sponsor and with the Ontario Library Association on this tour.
