TORONTO, March 8 /CNW/ - On Monday March 15, young viewers across the province are invited to meet Kara Harun, the newest member of the TVOKids team. Kara joins TVO co-hosts Mark Sykes and Jackie English in TVOKids' live afternoon program block, The Space.
Kara makes her debut during the March Break Sunshine Week in The Space. Kara and Mark host a week of wild and crazy fun that includes game day and lots of opportunities to win prizes throughout the whole week.
"Kara is a wonderful addition to the TVOKids family of hosts. She is a talented actress and musician with a dynamic personality, a perfect fit for The Space," says Patricia Ellingson, TVO's creative head of Children's Media Content and Programming. "We look forward to introducing her to kids across the province during Sunshine Week."
Kara will also join the TVOKids hosts for the 2010 Don't Sit Still Tour that travels across the province engaging young audiences in a live interactive stage performance and spreading its message of healthy eating and living. For tour information please go to facebook.com/tvokids.

About Kara Harun
An actress, and musician, Kara is a graduate of the University of Waterloo, where she studied theatre and business. In 2009 Kara was the lead actress in the web series Empire of the Word filmed around the world and produced by Nomad Films and TVO. Her acting credits also include a role as host of a television pilot in 2008 called The Dance Files. Kara is also an accomplished musician who performs with several bands and has travelled to more than 30 cities as lead singer in the popular cover band, The All Day Breakfast. In her spare time, Kara enjoys reading, quilting, writing, playing the ukulele and spending time in the country with her family.
