TORONTO, Aug. 31, 2016 /CNW/ - After being spared from elimination in the previous leg, twin sisters Rita and Yvette were faced with a festive Speed Bump, which put them behind the pack. The duo worked hard to catch up to the rest of the teams but were U-Turned by Jillian and Emmett, which set them even further behind. They gave it their all on the other side of the U-Turn, but in the end, the twins became the sixth team eliminated from THE AMAZING RACE CANADA at the Louisbourg Lighthouse Pit Stop.
"I never thought in a million years that we would be able to do half of the things that we did," said Rita. "Running the Race with my twin sister has been an amazing experience. Obviously I couldn't have done this Race with anybody else."

Episode 409 Recap:
The Race continued as teams traveled from sunny Havana, Cuba to Cape Breton, N.S. cautioned with a Double U-Turn ahead, the five teams raced to stay in front of the pack. Once there, the Racers were instructed to find the Canadian Coast Guard College. They also learned that their Chevrolet Malibu would track the distance each team travelled with the Teen Driver Technology. The team that clocked the least amount of kilometres in this leg of the Race would receive a $5,000 cash prize.
At the Canadian Coast Guard College, teams geared up, jumped into a vessel, and headed out to sea. Each boat had a specific set of directions leading teams to one of two separate rescue locations. Teams could only use nautical terms to direct the vessel to the correct rescue location, and upon arriving at their assigned location, one Racer had to dive in and retrieve one water rescue training dummy before returning to shore. Rita and Yvette struggled with the nautical terms and ended up navigating the boat to the wrong rescue location, which resulted in the pair rescuing the incorrect dummy. They ultimately had to return to sea in search of the correct location and retrieve the proper training dummy in order to receive their next clue.
While all the other teams proceeded to the Detour, Rita and Yvette were tasked with completing a Speed Bump as a penalty for coming in last place in the previous leg. The twins had to carry two sacks filled with holiday letters from the cadets at the Coast Guard College to the Christmas Island Post Office, Christmas Island, N.S. Once there, they had to stamp each letter with the unique Christmas Island postmark before they could keep on racing.
At the Detour, teams chose to either Feel the Rhythm or Feel the Burn. In Feel the Rhythm, dressed in traditional kilts, teams had to learn technical highland dance steps and perform the routine in unison with a group of young dancers. In Feel the Burn, teams had to complete three highland games heavy lifting events; the caber toss, farmers walk, and the stone throw. Teams Steph and Kristen, Jillian and Emmett, and Frankie and Amy all completed Feel the Burn, while teams Joel and Ashley, and Rita and Yvette chose to Feel the Rhythm.
Steph and Kristen left the Detour only seconds ahead of Jillian and Emmett and raced across the highlands grounds to the Black House Historical Site in search of the Double U-Turn board. Steph and Kristen arrived first and decided to U-Turn Joel and Ashley, while Jillian and Emmett chose to U-Turn Rita and Yvette, forcing both teams to return and complete the other side of the Detour.
Teams then drove to the Fortress of Louisbourg National Historic Site where they had to dress in 18th century uniforms and roll six heavy gunpowder barrels up a hill to the King's Bastion. There they had to fire a canon to receive their next clue. Although they were first to arrive at the challenge, Steph struggled with her cut finger from the previous leg and the pair fell behind . Frankie and Amy also struggled, as they attempted to save time by rolling all six of their barrels up the hill at once.
Teams then proceeded to the Louisbourg Lighthouse Pit Stop. In a foot race, Jillian and Emmett arrived in first place just moments ahead of Steph and Kristen, winning a trip for two to Mexico City, Mexico with five nights' accommodation provided by Hotels.com. After tallying the total mileage from each team's Chevrolet Malibu, in a tie, it was determined that teams Jillian and Emmett and Frankie and Amy traveled the fewest kilometres, and were both rewarded $5,000. Sadly, Rita and Yvette were the last team to arrive at the mat and were eliminated from the Race.
