Two new Electric Circuit charging stations in the Montérégie region - The city of Contrecœur joins the vast public charging network Français
MONTREAL, Dec. 12, 2014 /CNW Telbec/ - The Electric Circuit is pleased to announce the signing of a partnership agreement with the city of Contrecœur for the installation of two public charging stations for electric vehicles. The charging stations, located in the parking lot of the regional sports centre on Rue des Saules, are now available to drivers of plug-in electric vehicles.
"The city of Contrecœur is proud to be joining The Electric Circuit. This partnership demonstrates our efforts to make Contrecœur an even greener city for the well-being of current and future residents. The installation of these two charging stations is another of our sustainable initiatives," said Suzanne Dansereau, Mayor of Contrecœur.
"We are delighted to welcome the city of Contrecœur to the Electric Circuit, offering two additional charging points along the Montréal-Sorel corridor, between Route 132 and Highway 30," said Pierre-Luc Desgagné, Vice President – Public and Government Affairs at Hydro-Québec, on behalf of the founding partners of the Electric Circuit. "The installation of these two new charging stations is in line with our strategy to densify the network and will allow drivers of electric vehicles to stop in this well-located municipality."
About the Electric Circuit
The Electric Circuit is the largest public charging network in Québec. It is a major initiative in providing the charging infrastructure required to support the adoption of plug-in electric vehicles in Québec. The network has over 350 public charging stations in operation, including seven fast-charge stations, in select parking lots of the AMT as well as several RONA stores, Metro grocery stores and St-Hubert restaurants across Québec. Since its launch in March 2012, 90 private and institutional partners have joined The Electric Circuit.
Electric Circuit users have access to a 24/7 telephone help line run by CAA-Québec as well as a charging station locator service. The Electric Circuit Web site, theelectriccircuit.com, and the mobile application for iOS and Android are updated as new stations are installed or commissioned.
