Two weeks left for #CAJ16 early bird rates
OTTAWA, May 6, 2016 /CNW/ - Only two weeks remain to take advantage of discounted rates to attend the Canadian Association of Journalists' annual conference on May 27-28 in Edmonton.
"Our volunteer conference committee, supported by the national board of directors, has once again lined up a first-rate program for journalists," CAJ president Nick Taylor-Vaisey said. "We are confident those who attend will see the tremendous value in the professional development sessions and networking opportunities that are offered at #CAJ16."
From an opening plenary looking at the state of our industry, to first-rate data-journalism training, a full skills track and more, #CAJ16 offers opportunities to not only ponder the current state of working as a journalist in Canada, but also pick up skills and practices that can be brought back to any workplace.
Registration is currently open for this two-day conference, with fees starting at $249 plus HST for CAJ members for the full weekend, including a ticket to the conference banquet and gala. Rates for unemployed journalists and CAJ student members start at $75. Discounts are available for CAJ Award finalists as well as those registering in a group. These early bird rates will rise on May 20.
For those intending to stay at the Coast Edmonton Plaza Hotel, our conference room rates starting at $110 plus taxes and fees for a single room may still be available on request. Other preferential rates may also still be available.
The CAJ is Canada's largest national professional organization for journalists from all media, representing over 600 members across the country. The CAJ's primary roles are to provide public-interest advocacy and high-quality professional development for its members.
