MONTREAL, Oct. 6, 2015 /CNW Telbec/ - Today, Ubisoft and Audiogram announce an important partnership to support the international outreach of emerging musicians. Beyond using video games to showcase its artists, Ubisoft's music label, Ubiloud, will now benefit from Audiogram's expertise in promotion and distribution network in order to export this music to a wider range of people around the world.
"This new partnership definitely marks our place in the international music industry. The music from Ubisoft's games has already traveled throughout over 50 countries around the world, and thanks to this partnership with Audiogram we now have the tools necessary to sustain the presence of new artists on the international scene. We will be able to offer them larger visibility during those critical moments in their careers when it is important to become known by a larger audience", declared. Didier Lord, director of Ubisoft Music and the Ubiloud label.
"Faced with the new reality of the record market, Audiogram is now looking to the future more than ever. Independent and proud of its artists, the label stands by its mission to encourage the freedom of creation both here and abroad. Video games are ever-growing vehicles of musical discovery for millions of players across the world. The diversity of platforms is a testament to the growth of this increasingly fragmented musical industry", explained Mr. Philippe Archambault, General Manager of Audiogram.
The Quebec-born rapper, Imposs, is the first artist to join the project. Author, interpreter and producer, this Montreal artist showcased his potential in his latest single, Stadium Flow, a pop title with hip-hop undercurrents. The track features in the prestigious track list for the video game Just Dance® 2016 – the game will release on October 20th, 2015. Stadium Flow will be distributed in 111 countries thanks to Audiogram.
"My collaboration with Ubisoft and Audiogram marks a new and very important chapter in my career. This partnership has the potential to become an important catalyst in the development of emerging talents. By facilitating the promotion of music on the world stage, through games or through more traditional channels, new cohorts of young musicians will be tempted to turn their art into a profession", concluded Imposs.
The next artists to benefit from this agreement will be subject to cross promotion through video games and the Audiogram network. In this sense, a promotional strategy will be developed and deployed for each artist according to the game which they are associated, their creative imprint and the target market. In Imposs' case, a specific plan will be developed with the support of all Canadian radio stations as well as select international media. This plan adds to the visibility that Stadium Flow will receive thanks to its association to the Just Dance brand, which has sold over 55 million copies and has nearly 7 million Facebook fans to date.
