UL Canada Receives Listing for Gas-Fired Equipment Field Evaluation Services in Alberta
UL Canada is now listed on the Alberta STANDATA and authorized to deliver Field Evaluation services in Alberta for gas-fired equipment in the Oil and Gas sector
TORONTO, June 14, 2016 /CNW/ -- UL, a global safety science organization, today announced that it has been listed on the Alberta STANDATA as a preferred service provider to the Oil and Gas industry in Alberta. As an accredited Standards Council of Canada (SCC) Certification Body (CB), UL Canada will now work with owners and operators to help ensure their gas-fired equipment is in compliance with Provincial requirements before the January 1, 2020 compliance date. This listing means that UL Canada is now recognized as an approved third-party inspection body under the authority of the Alberta Authority Having Jurisdiction (AHJ), Alberta Municipal Affairs.
"We're very pleased to make this announcement today because it means that we can provide another value-added service in this very important industry to the Canadian economy, and we will be able to work more closely with local businesses to better serve their needs," said Joe Hosey, General Manager of UL Canada.
"UL is pleased to become an approved STANDATA third-party inspection body because this added credential will help our customers meet compliance needs," said Milan Dotlich, Global Business Leader of UL's Oil and Gas division. "Striving to be in the best position to help our customers bring innovative products to markets and demonstrate compliance to regulators is a key part in what we do every day, and to this end we are happy to be able to continue making progress."
