UL Warns of Unauthorized UL Mark on Compact Fluorescent Lamp
PUBLIC NOTICE
NORTHBROOK, Ill., Jan. 23, 2012 /CNW/ - UL is notifying consumers and retailers that the compact fluorescent lamp identified below bears an unauthorized UL Mark for the United States and Canada. The compact fluorescent lamp has not been evaluated by UL to the appropriate Standards for Safety and it is unknown if this compact fluorescent lamp complies with the UL safety requirements for the United States or Canada.
Please note that the compact fluorescent lamp with the unauthorized UL Marks is similar in appearance and is marked with the same model number as the compact fluorescent lamp that is authorized to bear the UL Mark. The authorized model is marked "53SJ". The compact fluorescent lamp with the unauthorized UL Mark is marked with the Energy Star logo, "Manufacturer ID: A" and "59HJ".
