Unifor and Medical Laboratories of Windsor tentative agreement
WINDSOR, ON, Oct. 19, 2017 /CNW/ - A tentative agreement has been reached between Unifor and Medical Laboratories of Windsor, if ratified the deal will end a three week strike at 11 Windsor laboratory locations.
"This was a difficult negotiation but the members stood together and this agreement is a testament to their solidarity," said Tullio DiPonti, Local 2458 Secretary-Treasurer.
Approximately 90 Medical Lab Assistants and Medical Lab Technicians, represented by Unifor Local 2458, have been on strike since October 2, 2017.
The agreement has the unanimous endorsement of the Unifor bargaining committee. A closed ratification vote will be held Friday October 20, 2017 at 10:30 a.m. at the Unifor Local 2458 hall located at 3400 Somme Avenue, Windsor. No details of the agreement will be released to media until after the vote.
