$36,342 raised from employee donations and company matching dollars
KINGSTON, ON, Nov. 28, 2014 /CNW/ - Union Gas employees once again demonstrated their caring nature by raising $36,342 for United Way of Kingston, Fontenac, Lennox and Addington, during the annual fundraising campaign.
"United Way makes a difference for individuals and families here in Kingston, Frontenac, Lennox and Addington," said Chris Doig, Union Gas new business project coordinator. "United Way gets to the root causes of issues to build long-term solutions. It builds momentum toward fundamental societal change through education and through advocacy."
"We are all proud of the generosity and hard work of Union Gas employees during the campaign, which succeeded with the theme of Give Your Way at Work, Home or Play," added Doig.
All individual employee and retiree donations made during the campaign, which is led by a dedicated volunteer group, are matched dollar for dollar by Union Gas' parent company, Spectra Energy – doubling the community benefit.
