Union Gas Raises Over $1 Million for United Way
CHATHAM, ON, Nov. 27, 2017 /CNW/ - Union Gas employees and retirees once again showed their generous nature by raising $1,009,476 for United Way's across Ontario for 2017.
"At Union Gas we are proud of being active members in the communities we serve and working with our community partners to help improve the lives of individuals and families," said Steve Baker, president, Union Gas. "Every year, our employees and retirees put their heart and soul into the campaign. They demonstrate their strong commitment to our communities and work hard to raise funds to support the United Way and the work they do to improve the quality of life for people in need."
The company's United Way theme, "We Give Today, To Improve Tomorrow," reflects the heart of the campaign, and it also reflects employees' spirit of giving. Numerous fundraising events led by employees were held throughout the year to raise money. Union Gas matches each individual donation dollar for dollar, and those matching dollars will go to each local United Way.
Funds will go to support United Way agencies and programs that address the needs of communities they service with the mission to improve lives and build community by engaging individuals and mobilizing collective action. In addition to providing natural gas delivery services and energy efficiency programs for homes and businesses, Union Gas contributes to the province through economic investments, available jobs, municipal taxes, volunteer hours and sponsorships.
