Union Gas showcases informative and interactive displays at the 2018 International Plowing Match and Rural Expo
CHATHAM, ON, Sept. 18, 2018 /CNW/ - Union Gas, an Enbridge Company and a $25,000 Gold-level sponsor for the 2018 International Plowing Match and Rural Expo to be held in Pain Court, Chatham-Kent, Ontario from Sept. 18 - 22, 2018, will showcase 5,000 square feet of informative and interactive displays. Highlights include:
- Granny's House – with more than just wood paneling, plastic on the couch, and vintage wallpaper, Enbridge Gas goes back in time with its interactive Granny's house that has outdated and inefficient home features that show not all oldies are goodies, especially when it comes to home comfort and energy savings.
- See what's inside a Union Gas utility service vehicle! Fuelled by compressed natural gas (CNG), the truck provides a snapshot into the job of Utility Service Representatives who are on the road every day servicing customers. Kids can don a hard hat and safety vest and have their photo taken inside the truck.
- Union Gas through the years. Archivist Anna has assembled an informative journey highlighting the history of natural gas going back to 1942.
In addition, Union Gas will be giving away free CO detectors, winter toques, and a chance to win one of ten tablets. Tour the hands-on exhibit to receive a ballet for a chance to win.
"Sponsoring the 2018 International Plowing Match and Rural Expo will help draw attention to Chatham-Kent and the area's important agriculture, business and tourism industries," said Steve Baker, president, Union Gas. "We're excited to participate in this great event and we will be onsite with an interactive exhibit in the Tented City. It's a great opportunity for the community to learn more about Union Gas and to experience a truly historic event here in Chatham-Kent."
The International Plowing Match (IPM) is one of the largest outdoor agriculture and rural living events in North America. IPM 2018 is organized by a Chatham-Kent committee of volunteers in cooperation with the Ontario Plowmen's Association, a non-profit organization that works with local communities to host an event in a different Ontario location each year. Thousands of visitors attend the five-day IPM 2018 agricultural celebration featuring plowing competitions, performers, demonstrations and a 100-acre Tented City featuring 500+ displays from local Chatham-Kent exhibitors including many food vendors. An RV Park will provide approximately 1000 dedicated sites.
