Union Gas supports energy conservation programs for Kitchener area youth
$5,000 grant to THEMUSEUM helps teach energy awareness and conservation to children
KITCHENER, ON, Sept. 19, 2014 /CNW/ - Union Gas is helping THEMUSEUM continue to teach local children about conservation, energy awareness and the environment courtesy of a $5,000 grant to support curriculum-based programs.
Murray Costello, Union Gas district manager for Waterloo/Brantford and Pam Gent, Union Gas administrative assistant for the Waterloo district presented the cheque to CEO David Marskell today at THEMUSEUM. Attended by THEMUSEUM staff, media and PD Day Camp participants, the presentation finished with a plasma car race between Union Gas and the campers.
THEMUSEUM's educational programs, including Kids Inspiring Change and Materials Matter enlighten, inspire and awe thousands of children a year. Union Gas' grant will provide the support needed to purchase supplies and materials to make these programs successful and interactive.
"Our youth are our greatest resource, and we believe that investing in their future is an investment worth making," said Costello. "We're proud to be partnering with THEMUSEUM on its energy conservation programs, which will help our children learn and grow."
"It's terrific to see Union Gas continue to lead by example as a member of the corporate community," said David Marskell, demonstrating continued thanks for the support and partnership of Union Gas.
