Union Gas supports leadership development in Windsor-Essex
$8,000 grant to Leadership Windsor/Essex helps develop outstanding community leaders
WINDSOR, ON, June 7, 2013 /CNW/ - Union Gas is helping Leadership Windsor/Essex (LWE) promote and encourage exceptional community leadership, through an $8,000 grant awarded today.
Andrea Seguin, Union Gas district manager for Windsor/Chatham and a LWE alumnus presented the cheque to LWE executive director Becky Parent at the closing retreat for the class of 2013. The 26 class members use the two day wrap up session to review their experiences over the last 10 months and set goals for future community involvement.
Union Gas is a longstanding supporter of LWE and their support has assisted dozens of individuals from the not-for-profit sector participate in the organization's core program.

"That's why we support important educational programs in the communities we serve, such as Leadership Windsor/Essex which is helping to develop the leadership capabilities of citizens who care about this community."
Not-for-profit leaders bring a unique perspective to finding solutions for the challenges facing the Windsor/Essex community. The LWE development program plays an important role in ensuring their participatory lens continues to be reflected in creating solutions that improve the community's quality of life.
