Union Gas supports Ontario government's decision on Energy East consultation and greater public dialogue
Ontario's best interests and overall economic competitiveness must be fully understood
CHATHAM, ON, Nov. 13, 2013 /CNW/ - Union Gas supports the Ontario Minister of Energy's decision to have a wider and more informed public discussion of TransCanada Pipeline's Energy East conversion project before the provincial government presents its official position to the National Energy Board next year.
We commend the Minister and the government for undertaking the review of the Energy East project in order to proactively engage and listen to Ontarians and we support the effort to ensure that Ontario's interests are addressed and fully understood within the context of the larger project. This is an important project for our country and Ontario and any successful project will need to incorporate the province's economic and energy requirements.
