TORONTO, Oct. 14 /CNW/ - TAGLaw, a unique network of 150 independent law firms in 84 countries, holds its annual Fall International Conference in Toronto October 25 - 27.
The agenda (See http://www.cvent.com/EVENTS/Info/Agenda.aspx?e=622466ab-9785-4c3d-8745-ffc057983bc3) includes sessions on the changing legal marketplace as revealed by a comprehensive Lexis Nexis survey on the state of the legal industry; the increasing connection between employment law and criminal law, and the protection of clients who are dealing with financially-troubled customers and suppliers.
The Toronto member of the TAGLaw network, Blaney McMurtry LLP, is local host of the conference, which will be opened formally by Mr. Justice David Watt of the Ontario Court of Appeal.
TAGLaw, with headquarters in St. Petersburg, Florida, was established in 1998. Its member firms have more than 7,800 lawyers serving clients from 315 offices in Asia Pacific, Europe, Latin America, Middle East/Africa and North America.
Member firms are typically mid-sized, with one or two offices, and specialize in the laws of specific jurisdictions. Blaney McMurtry's Michael Penman points out that TAGLaw gives clients who do business globally fast, reliable access to expert local counsel everywhere.
